Puget Island Farmer's Market takes place 2 ½ miles down the road…or slough... on Friday evening. It's a perfect place to pick up some fresh, local, naturally raised produce, meat or bread for the Friday Night Open Grill at Slow Boat Farm.

Fresh veggies are always available at the market, and meats, bread and eggs may be pre-ordered. Note on the registration form if you'd like to be contacted by the grower to order your meat for the Friday night Open Grill. You really can taste the difference!

Tender, pastured, soy-free chicken is available by the half or whole bird from Kathleen's Animal Protein. Deliscious sausage by the pound and artisan bread is available from Skamokawa's Inn at Crippen Creek. Eggs by the dozen from one of many local farms. Check the appropriate boxes on your registration form if you would like to be contacted for an order. Pre-orders only.

Friday Night Open Grill is a cook-your-own party at Slow Boat Farm complete with music, laughter, and friends. Outdoor kitchen facility and grills are provided. There is no charge for the Open Grill or the following slide presentations.

(pending) Saturday Night Catered Dinner is catered by Rob and Diane of Stockhouse's Farm & Rog's Retreat (link), the same local farmers who put on the market, featuring their own and other local, naturally raised, healthy and plentiful food. Menu is pasta with a choice of sauces including farm-grown vegetarian sauce, and meat sauce with locally-made gourmet sausage; fresh garden salads with homemade dressings; and award-winning locally baked bread. $20 person. Evening Presentation is included in the price.

Other meals throughout the week
The campers kitchen at Slow Boat Farm will be available for your use, or you may cook at your campsite. Note that tables are only provided in the kitchen area.

Volunteer Opportunities
Meet people, have fun, feel good.
Jobs include kayak schlepping, kitchen tending, directing traffic, recycle and compost duties, campfire tending, and more. Some jobs are a couple of hours or less and are compatable with a full schedule of classes. For these you will receive much gratitude, perhaps a free meal or other material thank-you.

If you'd like to volunteer more time, contact Ginni about opportunities and trades for before and during the event. Ginni's email: ginnical@yahoo.com
